Sign Painters es un documental y libro sobre el bello oficio de pintar letreros, de los realizadores Faythe Levine y Sam Macon. Sus autores comenzaron en 2010 a seguir a 12 artistas dedicados a este oficio, documentando sus métodos, su apreciación por la calidad y su habilidad. Algunos más experimentados, otros más jóvenes, estos apasionados de los letreros dan una mirada humana sobre este arte que se ve constantemente amenazado por las nuevas tecnologías, pero que jamás ha sido reemplazado. Esperamos que este documental ayude fomentar esta práctica.

Sign Painters is a documentary and book about the beautiful craft of hand-made signs, made by filmmakers Faythe Levine and Sam Macon. The authors began in 2010 to follow different artists dedicated to sign painting, documenting their methods, appreciation for quality and craftsmanship. Some more experienced, some younger, these fervid sign defenders give a human look about this art that is constantly threatened by new technologies, but which has never been replaced. We hope this documentary will help to encourage the love for this practice.

Fabian Oefner es un fotógrafo y artista suizo, conocido por sus fabulosos proyectos y experimentos de diversa índole. Jugando con burbujas o desintegrando objetos, Oefner ha dejado una marca gracias a su estilo completamente innovador. Su último proyecto, Black Hole, nos muestra dinámicas fotografías de colores en una fuerza centrípeta. Este efecto fue logrado gracias a una varilla metálica, donde se deja gotear la pintura, conectada a un taladro que al encenderse, genera estas increíbles composiciones en sólo un milisegundo.

Fabian Oefner is a Swiss photographer and artist, known for his fabulous projects and experiments of different kind. Playing with bubbles or disintegrating objects, Oefner has left a mark thanks to his completely innovating style. His last project, Black Hole, shows us dynamic pictures of colors in a centripetal force. This effect is achieved thanks to a metallic rod, where the paint is dripped, connected to a drill that when in motion, generates this incredible artwork that last just a millisecond.

Matt Walford es un fotógrafo editorial y de publicidad basado en Inglaterra. Cuenta que en todo su trabajo, se encuentra de-construyendo la naturaleza, ya sea un paisaje o una flor, o incluso comida. Luego reconstruye estos objetos naturales en su propio mundo, donde existen en una forma diferente a su estado natural. Matt Walford is an editorial and advertising photographer based in the middle of England. He declares that in all his work, he finds himself deconstructing nature, whether its a landscape or a flower, or even food. He then reconstruct these natural things to create his own world, in which things exist in a way that they do not in nature. According to him, this spells from a boyish need to take everything apart and put it back together again, plus a great love of science and the natural world.

Sonia Marpez es una fotógrafa, profesora y estudiante de Historia del Arte de Galicia, España. Sus imágenes en blanco y negro son al mismo tiempo delicadas e intensas, mostrándonos momentos precisos que nos insinúan historias fabulosas. Su trabajo ha aparecido en diversas publicaciones, ha colaborado en distintos proyectos artísticos y se ha encargado de varios trabajos editoriales y de carteles, además de ser coautora de los blog Mutaciones y Bellas y Malditos.
